Carolyn B Lewis

POCATELLO Carolyn B. Lewis, 72, of Pocatello, ID, passed away Wednesday, November 15, 2017, at Monte Vista Hills Care Center following complications as the result of a stroke. Carolyn was born on July 4, 1945, in Preston, ID. She was the third child born to Arthur Dale Bennett and Farrel May Rasmussen Bennett. She was raised in the Thatcher/Grace area where she attended schools. After high school she married Larry Bower. As a result of this union she was blessed with 2 children, Clint Wayne and Kristi Lynn. They were later divorced. She met her eternal sweetheart, Jack H. Lewis, in 1971. They were married for time and all eternity on June 2, 1972, in the Idaho Falls Temple. From this marriage they were blessed with 4 more children, Mark B., SueZann, Jacolyn Kaye, and Amanda Laschelle. Carolyn was a faithful member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints where she served in many callings with her favorite and longest calling being the Ward Chorister. From this calling Carolyn received her love of hymns. Carolyn studied at Idaho State University receiving her license in cosmetology. After graduation she returned as a student instructor in the cosmetology program. She also studied accounting at ISU where she made the Deans List every semester. Her main job in life was as a devoted wife and mother. However, she was the bookkeeper for many years for the family owned business Jacks Auto Body. She also gained a passion for healing and wellness where she devoted her time to helping others through natural healing and herbal remedies. She was highly knowledgeable in the naturopathic ways of healing. Some of her hobbies included sewing and knitting where she made many people their favorite dishrags. However, her main passion in life was her family and spending time with her kids, grandkids, and great grandkids along with the countless others that called her "Grandma Carolyn". She is survived by her children, Clint (Wendy) Lewis, Roy, UT, Kristi (Buck) Copeland, Aberdeen, ID, Mark (Teresa) Lewis, Pocatello, ID, SueZann (Gregory) Wuthrich, Hercules, CA, Jacolyn Lewis, Salt Lake City, UT, and Amanda (Derrick) Harvey, Pocatello, ID, along with 15 grandkids and 10 great grandkids. She was preceded in death by her eternal companion, Jack H. Lewis, parents, and Bryce Bennett (brother). Funeral services will be held on Monday, November 20, 2017, at 11:00 AM at the LDS Church Lewis and Clark Ward located at 550 West Cedar. There will be a visitation for her on Sunday, November 19, 2017, from 6:00 to 8:00 PM at Colonial Funeral Home, 2005 S 4 th Avenue as well as at the church one hour prior to the services. Burial will follow in the Mountain View Cemetery. The family would like to extend a special thank you to the employees of Monte Vista Hills Care Center for their loving care of Carolyn and their support of the family. They would also like to thank all of their friends and family for their care and concern.
