Carole Marlene Jorgensen

December 24, 1935 — February 17, 2016

Carole Marlene Payne Higley Jorgensen born December 24, 1935 to James Lester Payne and Sarah Maude Davis in Pocatello, Idaho was called home on February 17, 2016. She is the youngest of three children where they grew up in Arbon Valley until Carole was in the 4th grade, at that time they moved to Pocatello. Carole continued her education through Grimm's Business School, learning a trade in clerical work. She began her career with Farmers Insurance in 1954 and sustained long term employment until she retired in 1996. Carole married Lorin D. Higley in Pocatello, Idaho. To their union was born Harold "Hal" Dewey Higley, and Kathleen "Kathy" Higley. At a second chance at love Carole married Max Jorgensen and with their union had Kelly Brian Jorgensen and Lori Ann Jorgensen Bishop.

Carole enjoyed being a member of the LDS church, where she was actively involved in Home Evening and Relief Society. She had been an active member of the Daughters of the Utah Pioneers since 1959. Carole also enjoyed her time as a member of the Red Hat Society. Carole loved to be active and enjoyed traveling at any opportunity she had. During her retirement Carole kept busy walking the mall, reading books, watching soap operas, cooking shows and recreating their recipes, scrapbooking, going to the Senior Center to play Bingo and participating in the Annual Senior Games. Even as she neared 80 years old she loved attending baseball games, and country music concerts as well as being a member of two Senior Bowling Leagues and traveling with the D.L. Evans Bank Premier Club.

Carole is survived by her children Kathy Higley (Curt Oram), Kelly Jorgensen (Kris), Lori Bishop (Dave), grandchildren Michael Higley, Stephen Higley, Megan Higley, Stacy Brannagan, Brian Jorgensen., and Ethan Bishop, great grandchildren; Danielle Higley, MacKenzie Higley, Thomas Higley, Trinity Higley, Ashton Fritz, Stephen Higley Jr., Madison Fritz, and grandson due in June.
Carole is preceded in death with her parents James and Sarah Payne, son Harold "Hal" Higley, sister Vera Roper, and brother Ross Payne.

The family would like to thank everyone who has been a part of Carole's journey and those who have supported the family through this difficult time. The funeral services will be held on February 26, 2016 at 3pm at Wilks Funeral Home, 211 W. Chubbuck Road, Chubbuck Idaho, with a gathering 1 hour prior to the service.
