Carol L. Luchka

Carol Luchka, 70, passed away peacefully at her home, November 14, 2012. Carol was born May 15, 1942 at Long Beach, California to Harold and Margaret Chaffin. They later moved to Pocatello.

Carol attended schools in Pocatello, including Pocatello High School. Carol was very smart and loved school. After having three children, Carol earned her G.E.D. at Idaho State University while in her 30's. She had various educational interests and through her love of helping people, she focused on Sociology. She moved to Oregon where she attended Southern Oregon State College. She then transferred to Portland State University and Oregon State University. She was an advocate for abused children as well as battered women. Carol was also an activist for equal human rights.

Truly we lost a very loving, caring, fun loving soul that has planted seeds of adventure, kindness and thoughtfulness on relatives as well as those she treated as family. She loved to donate to Christmas charities to spread the joy of the season; so make someone happy this Christmas. She wouldn't want you to mourn her passing. So when you hear your favorite jam, just boogie like no one is watching in memory of her.

Carol is survived by her father, Harold (Elfrieda) Chaffin, sisters: Joyce Chaffin of Pocatello, Linda (Merlin) Burwell of Chubbuck, brothers: Ron Chaffin of Pocatello, Jeff (Elizabeth) Chaffin of Chubbuck, daughters: Diana Luchka Holder of Boring, OR, Kim Luchka (John) Evans of Holmen, WI, son, Jonathon Luchke of Florence, S.C., grandchildren: Solamon Ibe, Trinidad Ibe, Jahleila Ibe, Cameo Luchka, Andrew Luchka, Breana Evans, Marcus Evans and one on the way in January.

She was preceeded in death by her mother, Margaret Chaffin, grandsons: Issac I.A. Sanders and Jeremy Reid Luchka, Amy Sexton and Mary Rutter.

There will not be any public services for Carol at this time.
