Carma "Lou" Adams

Carma "Lou" Adams, 87, passed away peacefully April 19, 2020 in Pocatello, Idaho. She was born August 30, 1932. Carma Lou Neeley (she went by Lou) was born in Pocatello to Elmer Raymond Neeley and La Verne Orchard Neeley second to the youngest of ten kids, grew up in Pocatello and Blackfoot, Idaho. She was a homemaker, loving wife, and was the best at being mother, mother-in-law and grandmother. Lou went to West Yellowstone for a job working with her Aunt Della, eventually ending up in Lima, Montana working at a local restaurant, where she met Charles (Chuck) Adams. On October 19, 1951, the two eloped and drove to Jackson, Wyoming where they were married after about 6 weeks of dating. Their marriage lasted 62 wonderful years. They lived in Lima, Montana, Salt Lake City, Nampa, Pocatello, Island Park, Idaho and eventually in Idaho Falls. They started a family and were blessed with three sons, Tim, Shane and Scott. They lived in Pocatello until retirement and then moved to Island Park, Idaho where they had ten "wonderful years.'' They then moved to Idaho Falls, where they lived close to Aunt Myrle and Uncle Pete. Lou loved to play bridge, pinochle, card games with the grandkids, read, puzzles, sewing, making quilts and blankets, and was always keeping busy. She loved to cook and bake, always and only from scratch. She loved to go camping with family and friends, loved to ice skate, roller skate and was the popular mom on the rink. She also enjoyed snowmobiling and just playing in the snow with her kids and grandkids. She enjoyed traveling with her family and friends. Every year she looked forward to the games, sitting around the campfire and just spending time with her siblings and their families at the Neeley Family Reunion. Her family was everything to her, she was always involved in her kids activities and was always there for everyone. She cherished the time with her kids and eventually her grandkids - spoiling them as much as she could. Lou and Chuck were always there for family and loved taking care of them. Lou always had a great sense of humor and her laughter and love for family was everything. She worked at the Toy Fair when her boys were young and always got the latest toys, making her boys very popular in the neighborhood. She also worked at Fargos Department Store, The Bannock Hotel, and the Hilton in Pocatello. She also volunteered at the hospital for many years. In her later years her job was trying to organize her sisters for the bus ride and the infamous trip to the mall in Idaho Falls, where the Neeley woman were known as the beautiful white haired ladies at the Grand Teton Mall. She was an active member of the LDS church and early on taught Sunday School and Mutual. She loved her religion and her time at church. Lou was preceded in death by her loving husband of 62 years, Charles F. Adams; her siblings and their spouses, Alma LaVern Neeley, Mary Virginia Williams (Ruland), Cloda McCrory (Mac), Ruth Judd (Bill), Joy Phelps (Lynn), Myrle Seehusen, Paul Elmer Neeley (Betty), Calvin Blaine Neeley (Carmen) and Roma Jean Albiston (Kaye). She is survived by her three sons, Tim (Debbie) of Farmington, Missouri, Shane (Karla) of Pocatello, Idaho, Scott (Cindy) of Twin Falls, Idaho; sister, Beth Ann Forsmann of Blackfoot, ID; brother-in-law, Pete Seehusen of Idaho Falls, ID; 7 grandchildren, Jason S Adams, Jamie K Adams, Kendra (JC) Straub, Kayla L Adams, Lindsay (Kevin) McEwan, Kristina Hansen, Alexa (Rob) Barney; and 9 great-grandchildren, Owen Collins, Belle Collins, Ryder Kozemski, Chase Kozemski, Olivia Hansen, Sophia Hansen, Isabella Hansen, Kaedence McEwan and Jaxon McEwan. The family would like to thank the staff at Lincoln Court Retirement, the staff at Quinn Meadows and the staff at Caring Hearts and Salmon Valley Hospice for all they have done in caring for our mother. Graveside services will be held on Saturday July 18, 2020 at 11:30 am at the Grove City Cemetery, 1 Willow Dr. Blackfoot, Idaho 83221 with a Celebration of Life to follow from 1:00 pm - 4:00 pm at the Tautphaus Park Shelter #3, 2800 S. Boulevard, Idaho Falls, Idaho 83402. Shelter #3 is located on Fountain View Drive and faces the grassy area near the big fountain.
