Carlye Jo Horsch

Carlye Jo Horsch, 45, passed away on Tuesday, June 25, 2019 at Portneuf Medical Center in Pocatello. She was born on April 16, 1974 the only daughter of Ronald Dean Davenport and Christine Marie Detjen Davenport. Carlye attended Modesto High School and received her GED she also graduated with honors of a 4.0, which she was very proud of; receiving her certificate in Medical Assisting. Carlye loved to laugh and play practical jokes. She had a very colorful personality, colorful hair and she enjoyed playing her music very loud. She had her own creative flair and she loved anything the color pink. Carlye was a very friendly and compassionate person and would go out of her way to help others. She was a very devoted friend. Her car was an eclectic conglomeration of personal repairs. Carley loved fabric softener, shopping and being by the water. Carlye met Shane Horsch 25 years ago at teen challenge Christian Academy in Sundance, Wyoming. They were married on November 17, 2018 at the First Mennonite Church in Aberdeen, ID. When Carlye lived in California, she worked in the Health Care profession in assisted living and also home care. She was a phlebotomist for the American Red Cross. Carlye is survived by her husband, Michael "Shane" Horsch, Aberdeen, ID; children, Alexandra Kauffman, CA, Tristin Chantler, CA, Ashley Chantler, CA, Jordan Horsch, in the U. S. Army; parents, Ronald and Christine Davenport, CA; grandchildren, Makaylynn Kauffman and Grayson Chantler, CA; and grandmother, Nadeena Davenport, CA. She is preceded in death by her paternal grandfather, Charles "Poppop" Davenport; and maternal grandparents, Walter and Patricia Detjen. Services will be held on Wednesday, July 3, 2019 at 2 pm at Rocky Mountain Ministries Church, 845 Hyde Pocatello,ID. As a request from the family, please wear pink.
