Carla Marie Dance

Carla Marie Chapple Dance, 62, passed away Saturday, January 3, 2015 at her home surrounded by her family. Carla was born on January 1, 1953 in American Falls, ID to Joseph and Theda Chapple. She married her high school sweetheart, Don Dance, on December 15, 1967, and together, they had four sons. They were married for 47 years. She was a volunteer for the Special Olympics bowling team, a member of the board of directors for Independence Home, and volunteered at The American Red Cross for ten years. She also taught primary at the LDS Church for ten years, worked at New Day Products with people with special needs, and received the Gail Boam Award in 2002 for outstanding work and performance and the ability to affect positive change. Carla is survived by her mother, Theda Chapple of Aberdeen, ID; brothers, Gary (Sylvia) Chapple, Dennis (Kay) Chapple, Rob (Dixie) Chapple; sisters, Jeanine (Steve) Roberts, Lori (Henry)Rupp; children, Ron (Lorie) Dance, Ryan (Heidi) Dance, Philip (Angel) Dance, and Joe (Kandice) Dance, and a foster son, Mark Hokensen; along with 10 grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her father, Joe Chapple; brothers, Dale Chapple, and Phillip Chapple; and sister-in-law, Sylvia Chapple. Carla had a deep love for her family and friends and enjoyed spending time with all of them. She had a huge heart and would do anything for anyone. She opened her home, and heart, to everyone including animals. She will be greatly missed by all who knew her. We love you! Funeral services will be held on Friday, January 9, 2015 at 11 AM at the LDS 9 th ward Church, 4010 Hawthorne Rd. Pocatello, ID 83202 with a viewing for one hour prior to services. Family will also receive friends on Thursday, January 8, 2015 from 6-8 PM at Colonial Funeral Home, 2005 S. 4th Ave. Pocatello, ID 208-233-1500.
