Carl Thorvald Norgaard

Carl T. Norgaard, 87, passed away peacefully at his home, Thursday, March 7, 2013.

Carl was born, January 17, 1926 at Pocatello, Idaho to Peter and Christine Knudsen Norgaard. He attended schools in Pocatello. He enlisted in the United States Navy during WWII in January 1944 and honorably served his country until May 1946. He married Rose Steinbruck, October 3, 1948, and together they adopted two children, Theresa and Stephen. He worked as a truck driver for Garrett Freight and he also was a state steward for Paramutual Horse Racing.

Carl enjoyed fishing, boating, horses, vacationing, trail bike riding, horse racing and cutting wood in Island Park. He was a member of the Faith Lutheran Church.

Carl is survived by his son, Stephen Norgaard, two sisters: Ellen (Tracy) Watson, Pocatello, Id, Anna (Earl) Presslar, Pocatello, Id, numerous nieces and nephews, including, Rickie Norgaard who was his caregiver, 5 grandchildren and 4 great-grandchildren.

Carl was preceded in death by his daughter, Theresa; his parents, a brother, Peter Norgaard; and a sister, Marie Seefried.

His family wishes to extend a heart-felt gratitude to Dr. Lavonne Mills, M.D., for her years of personal and professional care for Carl; and the same to Alliance Home Health and Hospice for their matchless care as well.
