Carl Lynn Ames

Carl Lynn Ames, 68, passed away Saturday, January 31, 2015 at his home after a long battle with cancer. Carl was born and raised in Pocatello, Idaho. He started working for the Union Pacific Railroad in 1964. In 1965, he married Carlotta Gilbert. He retired from the UPRR after 41 years of service. He was a member of the LDS Church. Carl enjoyed fishing, hunting, and spending time with his family. In the last part of his life, he was very dedicated to his son, Brian, and caring for him and family was very important to him He is survived by his wife, Carlotta Ames; son, Brian Ames; daughters, Amy (Mark) Moran, Kara (Jon) Lautenschlager; brothers, Don Ames, Glen Ames; sisters, Sally Kugler, JoAnn Green, Jeanne Norman; 5 grandchildren, and 2 great-grandchildren. He is preceded in death by his father, Clyde Ames, mother, Delpha Ames, brother, Roger Ames, and sister, Sharon Harris. Graveside services will be Tuesday, February 3, 2015 at 1 PM at Restlawn Memorial Gardens, 2864 S. 5 th Ave. Pocatello, ID 83204 Arrangements are under the care of Colonial Funeral Home 2005 S. 4 th Ave. Pocatello, ID 208-233-1500
