Carl Gene Hull

Carl Gene Hull passed away at home from an unexpected heart attack on January 29, 2025. Carl was a wonderful husband to his wife Samantha Hull and an even better father to their son Ryker Hull.

Carl was born to Leonard and Delphia Hull of Ashton, Idaho on February 16, 1956. It was a snowy night and the road that Leonard and Delphia lived on was blown in with drifting snow. Carl Lenz and Gene Hess were neighbors, and they kept their tractors running day and night just in case it was time to go to the hospital. Leonard called the county, and they brought out a big rotary snowplow and towed them to the hospital. Delphia still named Carl after these two good neighbors that were willing to help them at any notice.

Carl is the 6th child in a family of 9 children. When he was born there were 4 boys and 1 girl. His sister Colleen said, "take him back, I want a sister!"

Carl wrestled in 8th grade and tried out wrestling moves on his brothers. Carl played football in high school. He graduated from North Fremont in 1975, afterwards Carl served a mission for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in Boston, Massachusetts.

Carl enjoyed being with family, riding his horse Blaze when he went hunting, snowmobiling, camping, fishing, boating, making knives and working on classic cars. Carl and Samantha enjoyed being outside and looked forward to every Hull family reunion.

Carl worked in management jobs, including Albertsons, for many years. He eventually owned his own Fuel Station in Inkom, Idaho, called Village Mart. Alan Hull said that Carl was a hard worker with a big heart. Carl would help anyone who needed it.

When he met Samantha Walker, they married early into the relationship and were blessed with a son named Ryker Hull. Carl and Ryker were connected at the hip and did everything together. In accordance with Carl's former spouse's wishes, the names of their children will remain undisclosed. Carl had 4 children from a previous marriage.

Carl is preceded in death by his parents, Leonard and Delphia Hull, his brother Roy (Vicki) Hull, sister Verlene (Keith Chandler), and sister-in-law Ann Hull.

Carl is survived in death by his wife Samantha Hull, son Ryker Hull, 4 other children, brothers, Leonard (Barbara), Larry (Ann), Alan (Diane), Daren (Regina), his sisters Colleen (Jim Harper), and Debra (Bruce Tew).

A memorial service will be held at 3:00 pm on Saturday, March 1, 2025 at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, 450 James Avenue, Chubbuck, Idaho.
