Cameron Loper

Cameron Keel Loper, 44, our beloved husband and father, passed away peacefully November 13, 2013 at his home.

He was born April 23, 1969 in Augusta, Georgia. He was the first born son of Emmie Nowell and Dale Loper. He grew up in North Augusta, South Carolina with his sister Marnie and his brother Brandon. He graduated from high school there in 1988. He attended the University of South Carolina and Idaho State University.

While living in Augusta he met the love of his life, Jan Bartholomew. They moved to Idaho and were married June 4, 1993. Together they have one son who proudly carries his father's name, Cameron Keel Loper Jr.

Cam was an avid reader and loved reading about history. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, and camping. His favorite places were the Sawtooth Mountains and the Carolina beaches. His favorite title was being a loving and caring father. He attended all of his son's sporting events, school activities, and scouting projects. He loved spending time with his family, and was a joy to be around.

His grandparents precede him in death: James and Melba Keel, M.J. and Dorothy Loper. He is survived by his wife Jan, and son Cameron; his parents Emmie and Lee Nowell of Augusta, Georgia; Dale and Becky Loper of Ruffin, South Carolina; sister Marnie (Sean) Lewis of Morehead City, NC; brother Brandon Loper of Los Angeles, CA; nephews Sean and Evan Lewis; in-laws K.C. and Billie Bartholomew; Tracie (Tony) Schroeder; Casey (Brandy) Bartholomew; Steve (Amy) Bartholomew; and many nieces and nephews all of Twin Falls, ID.

A vigil service will be held at 6 p.m. on Sun., Nov. 17, 2013 at the Holy Spirit Catholic Community St. Joseph Chapel 455 N. Hayes in Pocatello. Family will receive friends at a viewing prior to the vigil starting at 5 p.m. at the chapel. Funeral services will be held at 11:30 a.m. on Mon., Nov. 18, 2013 at the St. Anthony Chapel 524 N. 7th Avenue. In lieu of flowers family requests that donations be made in his name to the Pocatello High School Foundation or a charity of your choice.
