Cain Ortiz

Cain Ortiz, 36, of Pocatello, passed away November 29th, 2022, peacefully in his home.

He was born on January 7th, 1986, to Celerina Cobos and Manuel Ortiz in Blackfoot, ID. Cain grew up in the Thomas area. He attended Snake River School District and graduated high school in 2004. He later went on to attend Idaho State University. He attended the Instrumentation and Controls program and graduated with his Associates Degree in 2013.

Recently he worked as a Heavy Equipment Operator at Morton Buildings Inc. Cain was a very active individual. He enjoyed long boarding, snowboarding, being in the mountains, camping with his family, rock climbing, playing tennis, playing frisbee golf, riding his bike, going jeeping, caving, fishing, drawing, blowing things up, catching things on fire, fixing literally anything, supervising family activities, shooting his sling shot, playing the guitar, soaking in hot pools and overall being adventurous. Cain also truly enjoyed playing with his nieces and nephews. He was definitely the fun uncle who always played games with them and was known as “Tio Tain”. He also LOVED his dog, Chela. He would go everywhere with her; you could not see Cain without his “fur daughter” as he referred to her as.

Cain is survived by his mother Celerina, father Manuel and his wife Martha, brother Hiran and his wife Cynthia (Aranzazu, Lester & Luna), his sister Sonia and her husband Joel (Alejandro, Armando, Javier, Osvaldo & Isabella), his sister Janeth and her husband Moy (Annabelle, Mateo & Antonio), his sister Corina and her husband Joey (Axel & Maddox), his brother Abel and his wife Melissa (Kaya & Stella) and his brother Adam with his wife Lainel (ZoLee, Adrian, Elliot & Joel).

Visitation will be Saturday December 10th, 2022 at 9:30 am at Wilks Funeral Home 211 W. Chubbuck Rd., Chubbuck, Idaho 83202

Funeral services will be Saturday December 10th, 2022 at 11:00 am at Wilks Funeral Home 211 W. Chubbuck Rd., Chubbuck, Idaho 83202 with family and friends officiating.

Interment will follow at Mountain View Cemetery 1520 S 5th Ave, Pocatello, ID 83205

A reception for friends and family will follow the interment at 4600 Victory Ave., Chubbuck, ID  83202
