Bryan Adam Nield

June 17, 1972 — March 12, 2022

Bryan Adam Nield, age 49, passed away on Saturday March 12, 2022, from an unexpected heart attack.  Bryan was born on June 17, 1972, in Selma, California to Thomas Seth Nield and Karen Sue Hurst.  He is the middle child and has five brothers and two sisters.  He lived in Boise for a short period of time before moving to Pocatello, Idaho. He attended Chubbuck Elementary, Hawthorne Middle School, and graduated from Highland High School in 1990.

Bryan attended Ricks College from 1990-1991 before serving a two-year mission for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints in the Geneva, Switzerland Mission from 1991-1993. He served 18 out of his 24 months in different areas of France. He always talked about how his mission was one of the hardest things he did, but he loved and cherished it all.

Bryan did not waste any time and proposed to his “Babe” Tonya Maughan the day after returning home from his mission. On December 18th, 1993, they were sealed for time and eternity in the Salt Lake City, Utah temple. Bryan adored his wife and never let an opportunity slide by where he was able to express how lucky he was to have her.

Bryan and Tonya started their life together in Pocatello, Idaho where he began working at Insurance Designers and attending Idaho State University. He graduated in 1998 with a Bachelor of Business Administration. Later, he became the Owner and President of Insurance Designers. He loved his clients and enjoyed getting to know each and every one of them. He considered them as friends and always went above and beyond to make sure they got the service they deserved.

Bryan spent his life serving others. He loved people and volunteered in Scouts, playing basketball, coaching his kids in sports, and served on the Land Use Committee for several years. He always looked for opportunities to be a part of the community and give to others, whether it was his time or love.

He was also an active member of the Church of Jesus Christ where he served in a variety of callings with his favorite being able to work with the Young Men. He loved being around the youth and they loved being around him.

Although he played many roles in his life, his favorite was being a dad to his four children. Bryan was so proud of his kids and made sure to be a part of their lives. Not only did he make time for them, but he also watched out for their friends. He was the type to make sure everyone felt heard and loved, and he was a dad to many more than his own four children.

Bryan had many hobbies. He loved all things sports including basketball, football, baseball, soccer, tennis, pickleball, spike ball, or any other competitive sport. He loved motorcycles, shooting guns and riding side by sides. He was a #1 Dance Dad and loved watching his girls perform. He was born and raised a BYU fan, and though he was often a disgruntled fan, he bled BYU blue. The last few years his favorite hobby was spending time with his family camping.

Bryan was a father, teacher, mentor, friend, son, grandpa, and loving husband. He is survived by his parents Tom and Karen Nield, wife Tonya Nield, sons Bryton (Christi) Nield and Alex (Brianna) Nield, daughters Aubrie (Derek) Holman and Sara Nield and two grandsons, James and William. He loved his family more than words can express, and he will be greatly missed. He was preceded in death by his brothers Joshua Nield, Tyler Nield, and Eric Nield, and Father-in-Law Sidney Maughan.

Funeral services will be held in his honor at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, March 19, 2022 at the Whitaker LDS Church building located at 4890 Whitaker Road, Chubbuck, Idaho.  An evening viewing will be held at the same location from 6:00-8:00 p.m. on Friday, March 18, 2022.  Interment will follow the funeral services at Restlawn Memorial Gardens in Pocatello, Idaho.
