Brock O'Neil Slane

February 2, 1978 — February 10, 2021

Brock O'Neil Slane, 43, of Pocatello, passed away on February 10, 2021.

Brock was born in Pocatello Idaho February 2nd, 1978 to Randy and Kathy Slane. In 1982 he moved to Wilsonville, Oregon just outside of Portland. The family moved to Tualatin, Oregon a year later where Brock attended Bridgeport Elementary, Hazelbrook and Lincoln Middle Schools, Tualatin High and Senior year at Tigard High.

He loved all sports. Randy coached Brock and Tyler in T-ball. Brock Played Baseball, Soccer, Basketball and Football. His favorite was Football. He then attended Portland Community College and was a member of their competitive debate club. He was on the Dean's list every semester. He also loved acting and was in plays and did some stand up comedy in Portland. He was good at impersonating people. Fire Marshall Bill, his Grandpa Lish, and his Running Man were some of our favorites. Brock enjoyed writing rhymes for thoughtful rapping.

He was a student of the Bible and loves the Lord. He purchased an old hymnal and he would call his mom and sing to her. He was a big hearted man who was never afraid to demonstrate his love. One year after a scrimmage game with the Seniors, the coach dismissed the team telling them to go greet their parents. Brock threw his arms out ran to his mom, declared "I love you Mom!" and hugged, and kissed her. Every mother on the sidelines asked her "How do you do that?", "My son would never do that in front of anyone much less their team" We were so blessed indeed.

Brock moved back to Pocatello just ahead of Kathryn and Michael, his Step Father in 2004. The day after his birthday he told his mom, "It was the best birthday ever, everyone hit me up on Facebook and his friends even baked him a cake." Through his life Brock struggled with mental illness, but the last year he was healthy and happy.

Brock is survived by his Father Randy Slane, Mother Kathryn(Michael) Woodard. He was proceeded in death by his brother Tyler Slane, his Aunt Cheryl Mathews, and Aunt Judy Slane-Rhinehart, his Uncle Mitchell Slane, and his Grandmother Cecille Lish. Our Family deeply appreciates all of the love and support you have given. Thank you
