Brock Isiah Crawford, 14, passed away on October 8, 2024.

Brock’s parents, Bryn and Dan, applied to be adoptive parents. They were meant to be a family -- it took only three days for them to learn that Brock was a part of their lives.

As a young boy, he loved his red cowboy boots and going to rodeos. He pretended to hunt gators and told of all the animals he would have on his farm one day. As he grew older, he always doing something, trying something, “just testing this out.” He loved competing in a rodeo, riding a horse or a bike, camping or hiking. He was a hunter and a fisherman. If he couldn’t be out there himself, he wanted to hear about a hunting or fishing trip you had been on, or tell you about one of his, or show you the rifles he had won or all the stuff he had in his tackle box.

Of all the activities, Brock loved baseball the most. He played ball any chance he could get, whether he had a bat and ball or a rolled-up pair of socks and a wooden spoon. From tee-ball to All-Stars, Brock’s love for the game, his coaches, and his teammates never changed.

If you know Brock, you know how active he was. You also know that all the joy he felt and love he had for these activities, Brock passed on to others.

Brock loved his mom and shared what was happening in his life with her. Brock loved his dad and stayed connected with him so they were close, even when they were far apart. Brock loved his sister and they always had one another’s back, everywhere they went. Brock made people smile, he made people laugh, and he made people feel cared for. He offered to make you a grilled cheese or eggs or juicy toast (extra butter). He posed for crazy family pictures. He was not afraid to belt out a song on a car ride or at a goldfish’s funeral. Brock connected with people. He showed how he felt. He gave a hug at any time or held a hand when someone needed it. He played with the young and had serious talks with the old. Brock always told his people he loved them. Brock showed them he loved them.

Brock is loved by his mother, Bryn Crawford, his father, Daniel Crawford, and his sister, Dyllan Crawford. He is also loved by many grandparents, aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends. We are forever thankful to have been adopted into his life.
