Brit McLean, aged 78, passed away on September 18, 2024. Born on January 24, 1946, Brit grew up in Blackfoot, Idaho, with his parents, Dorothy and Carl McLean. His father owned a Chevron gas station, where Brit spent many of his formative years. He attended Blackfoot High School, where he was an active participant in sports, excelling in both football and basketball.
In April of 1969, Brit proudly enlisted in the United States Army, serving his country with honor until his discharge in February of 1972. Following his service, he worked at Basic American Foods, where he dedicated himself until his retirement.
Brit was married to, Emily McLean, for 33 wonderful years. Together, they enjoyed a fulfilling retirement, filled with travel and time spent with family. Brit loved to golf, garden and played a mean game of cribbage!
Brit is survived by his children: Steve McLean, Pam Hebdon, Chris Ehresmann, Stacy Crnkovich, Craig McLean and Molly Scalzo. He took great pride in his blended family and found joy in the lives and accomplishments of all his children. Brit is also survived by his siblings: Bill McLean, Karen Roberts, Shawnee Smith, Chuck McLean, John McLean, and Sheila Easterday. He is preceded in death by his sisters, Lloydiene Coffee and Carla McLean as well as his father Carl.
Brit will be remembered as a devoted son, husband, father and stepfather.
The family will be hosting a celebration of life at Raymond Park on September 28th 1-3 pm, honoring the love, strength, and values he exemplified throughout his years.
