Brian John Aldous, 85, passed away on July 27, 2023. Brian was born on August 4, 1937, in Bedingfield, Suffolk, England. He was a hard worker, even from the age of 14, working with his father on numerous farms in England. Later he moved to Grace, Idaho, where he worked with stock lumber until he retired at the age of 65.
Brian loved to create latch hook rugs, and he won numerous prizes for them in the Grace fair. He worshipped his dog, Roxy, who was his beloved companion for over 18 years. He loved riding his tricycle every day. Brian was an all-around handy man, a real Mr. Fix-it, working on everything from bicycles to cars and everything in between. He was also a talented gardener and a hard-working, gentle giant.
Brian married Eileen, and together they had two daughters, Jayne and Ruth. Brian and Eileen were separated later in life.
Brian is survived by his daughter, Jayne (Peter) Oliveri; three grandchildren, Jenifer (Steven) Mouser, Peter Oliveri, and Sarah (Brendan) Grant: and seven great grandchildren, Aiden, Harry, Stella, Marlon, Rhiannon, Nathan, and Cecil, from Taunton, MA; and his daughter, Ruth (Sheldon) Mayne; two grandchildren, Daniel (Jeana) Mayne, Mary (Cody) Smith; and four great grandchildren, Blake, Karli, Carson and Logan, from Grace, ID. Stepdaughter, Kate (Christian) Grey from NZ; and stepsons Jon (Teresa) Mills; Peter (Janice) Mills; Paul (Linda – deceased) Mills, 12 grandchildren, and 15 great grandchildren from Diss, England; brothers-in-law Graham Baldwin and family; Maurice Baldwin and family; Trevor Wright (deceased) and family; sister-in-law Susan Hampson and family from Colchester, England.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Nora and Fred Aldous; grandmother, Granny Archer; stepson, Paul Mills; brother and sister in-law, Trevor and Betty Wright.
A Celebration of Life will be held at 3:00 pm on Saturday, August 5, 2023, at 418 W Center Street in Grace, Idaho.
