Bubba (Brian) Keith Hottel, age 53, passed away on Tuesday, August 23rd, 2022 at Portneuf Medical Center. He struggled through an aortic replacement surgery and two strokes. He successfully made it through the surgery and was able to have one whole bonus week with his family before suffering a complication. That week is a miracle that will never be forgotten.
Bubba was born in Pocatello, Idaho on August 1, 1969. From then on, he was full of love and laughter. You could often find him skipping class to go skiing and then bribing his teachers with pizza that his mom, Rosalie, would give him since she worked in the cafeteria. He graduated from Highland High School and went on to marry the love of his life, Teresa, on March 3, 1994 in Las Vegas at The Little White Chapel. They were later sealed in the Logan Temple on October 9, 1999. Together, they have four children.
Bubba was always passionate about sales and he was a top performer in his career. When he wasn't working, he was playing card games, eating Buddy's sandwiches, and traveling to beautiful places with his family. Hunting, golfing, fixing Land Cruisers, and putting up Christmas lights on his gingerbread house were some of his favorite things. He fixed up a Land Cruiser and sold it to pay for the births of each of his children. While working or hanging out, his favorite thing to play was 80's rock. Every Saturday night House of Hair was playing, he was jamming out and saying, "Right on!" If you knew him, you knew of his love for Dr. Pepper and his frequent stops to the Pit Stop, where he didn't need an introduction. He is a LEGEND down there. Bubba loved to make everyone around him smile and, in retrospect, it may have been his most beloved job while on this earth. He was able to create countless memories with his family and friends that will be cherished forever.
Bubba is survived by his wife, Teresa Hottel; his daughters Brittany Jordan Dennis and Chelsie Hottel Musetti; his sons Kyler Trae Hottel and Kaden Brent Hottel; and his three granddaughters, Winley, Wakley and Raylynn. Adored by many, Bubba, a husband, father, grandfather, and friend, will be greatly missed.
A viewing will be held Friday, August 26, 2022 from 6 to 8 PM at Wilks Funeral Home on Chubbuck Road, and Saturday, August 27th, 2022 from 12:30 to 1:45 PM at the Pocatello Central Stake Center, 225 Oakwood Drive, Pocatello, Idaho. This will be followed by the funeral service at 2 PM. Interment and the balloon launch will take place at the Cambridge Cemetery in Downey, Idaho once funeral services are complete. We ask that if you are attending any of these services to please wear bright colors and bring your sunglasses. Bubba always wore bright colored polos and his sunglasses that were always fixed on his forehead. His family joked that those Oakley sunglasses had healing powers during that extra week that he was able to spend with them. His family would like everyone to remember that God is in the details and that Bubba will be with us forever.
