Brent Eli Johnson

The world has lost a true musician Brent Johnson, guitarist, luthier, hobbyist, and an unapologetic force of nature. He stepped off life's stage on November 15, 2024.

Born September 12, 1964, in Council Bluffs, IA. Brent became a master of his crafts. He never met a guitar lick he couldn't conquer or a piece of exotic wood he couldn't shape into a beautiful guitar. Music was a constant companion throughout his life. Brent took great pride in his family and knowing he passed on his love of music to his children and grandchildren.

Whether he was shredding unforgettable solos or working away in his studio for the sheer joy of it, he didn't stop until he achieved perfection. When Brent wasn't bending strings, he was bending rules. Known for his insatiable curiosity, he threw himself into hobbies with almost the same passion he had for music. Throughout his years his hobbies included RC cars, stunt kites, drones, snowboarding, fly fishing, tying flies, mountain biking, martial arts, archery, and anime. Brent lived his life on his terms and made no apologies for it.

He leaves behind his wife of 41 years, Geneva Johnson. Children Tad (Pa) Johnson, Tylor (Ann) Johnson, Tabatha (Adam) Dean and Taft Johnson. Grandchildren, Koa, Kloey, Roxy, Asher, Alphonse, Atari, Renton, Zaya and Sky. Parents, Henry and Laurie Johnson, Brothers Bret, Brad, and Brian. Brothers from other mothers Von, Bounlay, Mike, Pong and way too much crap in the garage.

 He is now reunited with his favorite drummer and brother Bryce. If you close your eyes and listen you can almost hear them jamming, just like the old days in their bedroom.

A visitation will be held from 1 - 2 pm followed by a celebration of life at 2 pm on Saturday, November 23, 2024 at Wilks Funeral Home, 211 W Chubbuck Road, Chubbuck, ID.
