Brenda Joy Shierk

Brenda Joy Shierk, 60, passed away peacefully Monday, September 11, 2017 at her home. Brenda was born June 11, 1957 daughter of John and Delores McKinney in Mount Vernon, Washington. She was raised and educated in Mount Vernon, Washington. Brenda had three children, Jodi, "JJ", and Justin. Brenda loved spending time at home in her yard with the love of her life Kevin Nelson. Their life was filled with outdoor adventures and many happy moments. There are so many lives that Brenda touched, she always had a smile on her face. She was such a gentle, beautiful soul. She was loved by so many and will be missed forever. Brenda enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren. She always had homemade snacks for them to eat after school. Brenda was preceded in death by her mother, Delores; two brothers, Johnny McKinney, Randy McKinney; and her son, Justin Shierk. She is survived by Kevin Nelson, spouse, Idaho; daughter, Jodi Phillips, Idaho; son, "JJ" Donoghue, Washington; father, John McKinney, Washington; and brother, Michael McKinney, Washington. A Celebration of Life will be held on Friday, September 15, 2017 at 3 pm at Colonial Funeral Home, 2005 S. 4th Ave. Pocatello, ID.
