Brandon Kerry Heintz

December 6, 1985 — January 10, 2012

Brandon Kerry Heintz, 26, passed away at his home in Boise Idaho Tuesday, January 10, 2012.

Brandon was born December 6, 1985, in Pocatello, Idaho to Kerry Paul Heintz and Connie Lou (Anthony) Heintz. He grew up in Pocatello attending Gate City Elementary, Franklin Jr. High and Highland High School. He also attended Carroll College in Helena, Montana on a football scholarship; and was currently attending Boise State University. Upon relocating to Boise, he began working as a security manager for the Torch. This is also where he met the love of his life, Chelsea Thomas, and together they brought their beautiful daughter, Luna into this world.

Brandon enjoyed the outdoors, which included fishing, rock climbing, hiking, and floating the Boise River with friends and family. Some of the most precious times included enjoying time at the Tate's cabin in Island Park, Idaho and the Carnehan's in Glenn's Ferry, Idaho wakeboarding with his many friends.

After the birth of his daughter, Luna, he enjoyed many camping trips with Chelsea and his parents. This allowed him to spend time with his family at some of the most beautiful places in the world, including Sun Valley, Redfish and City of the Rocks right here in Idaho.

A friend said, “The fishing, even though we never once caught a fish. Though God knows he tried with that broken reel, but he was convinced he could do it. He was the guy with a motorcycle, yet hated to ride in a Jeep without doors. The camping trips in the snow seemed like a good idea at the time, however trying to get a fire going with wet pine needles and big wet logs…but at least we had our spirits and conversations to keep us warm.”

As Brandon was growing up, he was involved in many sports. His favorites were football, baseball, and track. The Highland Vikings football team, coaches, and parents helped to make this one of his fondest memories ever. As he progressed to Highland High School, he continued to excel at football and track. He was selected as an All-State Offensive Lineman during his senior year. He was also a member of the Carroll College Saints Football Team as they won the National Championship in 2004.

He will always be remembered for his big heart and amazing hugs. He touched many with his compassion and warmth. He was a great father, soul-mate, and was a friend to all. His amazing smile touched the hearts of many. He has left a hole in our hearts that will not be filled until they meet again. He will be greatly missed by all. RTP

Brandon is survived by his soul-mate, Chelsea Thomas, Boise; daughter, Luna Heintz, Boise; parents, Kerry and Connie Heintz, Pocatello; sister, Chalane Heintz, Pocatello; grandfather, Al Heintz, Phoenix, AZ; grandmother, Jo McNaughton, Rexburg; and numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins.

Brandon was preceded in death by grandparents, Dallas M. and Irene L. Anthony.

Brandon's family suggests contributions be made to the Luna Heintz Memorial Funda at Pocatello Railroad Federal Credit Union.
