Bonnie Jean Salvesen Hall, 73, of Pocatello, passed away Saturday, September, 21, 2013 at her home due to stroke related-heart failure.
Bonnie was born June 13, 1940, a daughter of Herman and Marion Mock Salvesen in Malad City, Idaho. She attended school in Downey, Idaho and graduated from Marsh Valley High School in Arimo in 1958. She was active in the Drill Team and Homecoming Queen her Senior year.
Bonnie married her high school sweetheart, Boyd K Hall, in Downey, Idaho on February 22, 1958. They were later sealed in the Logan Temple on July 14, 1987.
She served on the board for the Bannock County Fair and was a member of the Daughters of the Utah Pioneers. Bonnie loved traveling, gardening, reading, genealogy, temple work and meeting with the Sunshine Sisters. One of her most enjoyable past-times was watching her children and grandchildren participate in sporting and various activities.
She worked at the Hudson Shoe Store and then worked as a secretary in the Graduate School at Idaho State University for 27 years, retiring in 2005.
She was active in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, serving in various positions including Primary and Relief Society President.
She is survived by her husband, Boyd K Hall; six children, Rickardo K Hall of Oregon, Tamara Sue (Jerry) Bird of Texas, Melanie (Tony) Norton of Blackfoot, Rhett B (Lissa) Hall of Boise, Stephanie (Cody of Mackay) Schmidt of Utah and Ryan Anthony (Candice) Hall of California; 22 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; one sister, Patricia Davis; and one brother, Ronald Salvesen. She was preceded in death by her parents.
Funeral services will be held Friday, September 27, 2013 at 11:00 a.m. at the El Rancho Ward Chapel at 300 East Chapel Road with Bishop Tim Stronks officiating. The family will receive friends on Thursday evening from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Wilks Funeral Home 211 W. Chubbuck Road and on Friday from 10:00 to 10:45 a.m. at the church prior to services. Interment will be in Restlawn Memorial Gardens. Funeral arrangements are under the care and direction of Wilks Funeral Home 238-8000.
