Bonnie Gean Ankrum Moore

February 8, 1935 — May 19, 2023

Bonnie Gean Ankrum Moore was born on February 8, 1935, in Salt Lake City, Utah. She passed away on May 19, 2023, from congestive heart failure. Bonnie lived in Salmon, Washington State, Kuna, Albuquerque, Ashton, and Pocatello.

She married Laramie (Larry) Wesley Ankrum on January 10, 1953. Prior to his passing in 1982, they did a lot of camping and even traveled to Hawaii for their 25th anniversary. Most of her career was in banking – over 40 years. In June 1985, she married Jene E. Moore. Unfortunately, he passed away on May 12, 2013, from a head injury. Bonnie and Jene traveled to many places around the world and ultimately built a cabin outside of Ashton, Idaho which they made their permanent home. After Bonnie retired in 1997, she and Jene traveled and decided the Idaho winters were too hard and started taking their travel trailer to Phoenix in the winter. After a couple years of doing this, they purchased a home next to her brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Lynn and Shirlene. Bonnie enjoyed the warm winters and activities they were able to do in Phoenix.

Bonnie loved her family very much. They were always her main focus, going to graduations, weddings, athletic events, and other special events. She was the best at feeding large groups of family and friends, never lacking enough food if extras showed up. She loved playing the piano and organ at church, and at home. She loved golfing, quilting, genealogy, and temple work. Bonnie was raised in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and continued her faith and belief up until her death.

Deb, Steve, Margie and Karen would like to thank Heritage Home Health and Hospice for the wonderful care they provided for our mother/sister during the past three months, as well as a special thanks to David Moore, Gabriel, Paige, Emily Victor, Cassie Snell, and Dr. Warnock.

Bonnie was preceded in death by her first husband Larry, her second husband Jene, her granddaughter Jackie Poulson, brothers Richard Skinner and Reed Skinner, sister Pat Smith, parents Dale and Marge Skinner, great granddaughter Kimberly, and her stillborn son, David Ankrum.

She is survived by her and Larry’s three children: Deb Poulson (Fred Bailey), Steve Ankrum, Margie Ankrum; sister Karen Skinner; six grandchildren: Kristan (Ken) Young, Brandon Poulson, Will Ankrum, Kyle Ankrum, Wendy Nielsen, and Amber Ankrum; and 10 great grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held on Friday, May 26, 2023, at 11:00 a.m. at the Tyhee Stake Center, 12146 W. Tyhee Road, Pocatello, Idaho. Her family will receive friends at a viewing which will take place for one hour prior to the services at the church. Interment will follow the funeral and will be at Restlawn Memorial Gardens.
