Blair Doman Gilbert, 74, peacefully passed away surrounded by loved ones on January 23, 2025, at his home in Pocatello, Idaho.
He was born on March 4, 1950, in Pocatello, Idaho to Jay Cordon Gilbert and Delores “Dee” Lorraine Doman Gilbert. Blair was the middle child with two sisters, Gwen and Jayne. After his father, Jay, died, Dee married Gilbert “Gib” Myers and Blair gained three more brothers: Norman, Gilbert “Skeeter,” and Orval.
Blair spent most of his childhood years in the Fort Hall area and attended schools in Fort Hall and Blackfoot.
Blair honorably served his country during the Vietnam War as a Navy Seabee.
Blair was a wonderful handyman. He worked for the railroad as a welder, Brennan construction hanging drywall, he had a curb company for a bit and overall loved working with his hands and building stuff.
Blair married the love of his life, Lori Jean Landon, on August 19, 1991, and were soulmates even after her passing in 2021. Blair and Lori would often be found helping with various charities and they enjoyed golf tournaments for the Make-A-Wish Foundation. Blair and Lori had a large group of friends they considered family, and they would do many things together like snowmobiling, fishing, and camping.
He was a wonderful brother, husband, grandfather, uncle, and friend. Blair was Jayne’s go-to for help, especially after her husband and Blair’s close friend, Lindon Mickelsen, passed away. Blair would continue to check in on his baby sister until he passed.
