Blaine J. Robinson

Blaine J. Robinson, 83, passed away peacefully at home June 1, 2014 surrounded by his loving family.

Blaine was born August 4, 1930 in Preston, Idaho to James and Savona (Jepsen) Robinson. He grew up in Worm Creek, Riverdale, Mink Creek and Preston, Idaho. He attended school in Mink Creek. He was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.

Blaine joined the Army in December of 1947. While at home on leave, he met his sweetheart and future wife, LaNeve Waddoups. They were married September 22, 1950 in the Logan Temple. They were married for 61 years and inseparable until LaNeve's death in 2012. They lived in Preston until moving to Pocatello in 1951. Blaine and LaNeve had four children, Thaine, Jill, Mark and Jo. Blaine worked at the PFE for 37 years. He enjoyed bowling and archery, but more than anything, he loved his horses. Blaine spent many years raising and racing horses. Blaine and LaNeve always looked forward to a new colt each spring.

Blaine is survived by his children; Thaine (Kaloha) Robinson, Rexburg, Idaho; Jill (Rick) Capell, Pocatello, Idaho; Mark (Michelle) Robinson, Pocatello, Idaho; Jo (Ron) Watson, Bountiful, Utah; 11 grandchildren, 18 great-grandchildren; brothers, Hal Robinson, Preston, Idaho; Jim Robinson, Preston, Idaho; and sister, Marilyn Baird, Lewiston, Utah. He was preceded in death by his loving wife, LaNeve; his parents; a brother, Dale; and a sister, Joyce.

Funeral services for Blaine will be held at 11:00 AM, Saturday, June 7, 2014 at the Pocatello 18th Ward Chapel, 3444 Hawthorne Road, with Bishop Boyd Rowe conducting. A viewing will be held from 6-8:00 PM, Friday evening at Wilks Funeral Home, 211 W. Chubbuck Road, and one hour prior to the services at the church. The interment will follow the services at Franklin Cemetery, in Franklin, Idaho with Military Rites provided by the National Honor Guard.
