Blaine Alan Allred, 74, passed away on March 8, 2014 in his home surrounded by loved ones after fighting a courageous battle against cancer. Blaine was born the second of three children on April 9, 1939 in Ogden, Utah to Blanche & C. G. (Jim) Allred. The family moved to Hagerman, Idaho in 1945 and he attended grade school in Tuttle and graduated from Hagerman High School. He was active in band, FFA, baseball, student council, and Glee Club. After graduation, he worked for Penta Post Company in Tuttle to pay for his college tuition. He graduated from Idaho State College at the Trade and Technical School where he earned his degree in auto mechanics. He married Sandra Willson in 1959 and they had three children, Tina, Cary, and Lori. They later divorced. In 1975, he married the love of his life, Jerrie Anderson and gained two children, Toby and Angela Huber. Jerrie and Blaine recently celebrated their 39th anniversary. He worked at City Motors, Hill Brothers Buick, and retired from the Union Pacific Railroad after 25 years of service. After retirement, Blaine and Jerrie enjoyed traveling to many craft shows where they sold their beautiful handcrafts. They made many lifelong friends along the way. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, scroll saw work, spending time with his family, yard work, the great outdoors, and farming with his son-in-law, Jerome. He and Jerrie have blessed many people with their generosity and love. He was a moral compass for numerous loved ones. He has touched our lives and will stay in our hearts forever. Blaine is survived by his wife, Jerrie; his children, Tina (Jerome) Clinger, American Falls, Cary (Cindy) Allred, Lori (Sheldon) Crofoot, Idaho Falls, Toby Huber, Angela (Mitch) Hoitt, Boise; sister, Diane Chapman, Tucson; 12 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents and his brother Glenn. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, March 12, 2014 at Colonial Funeral Home. The family will visit with friends on Tuesday, March 11, 2014 from 6 to 8 p.m. and one hour prior to services on Wednesday.
