Billy R. Dowling

Billy Ray Dowling, 79, passed away peacefully at local care facility, August 30, 2013.
Billy was born August 13, 1934 in Oklahoma to Arthur and Clara Dowling. He moved to California where he attended school at Arcata High School. While in school, he played many sports. He also met the love of his love, Stella, and they were married and spent 60 wonderful years together. Billy was in the Navy for 3 ½ years and then later worked in construction for 55 years.
Billy enjoyed golf, camping, sports of all kinds, reading, and completing cross-word puzzles. His garden was one of pride and joy.
Billy is survived and will be dearly missed by his wife, Stella of Pocatello; daughter, Pam Shafer of Salt Lake City, UT; son, Gary Dowling of Bonduel, WI; daughter, Carol Dowling of Greeley, CO; seven grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.
Billy was preceded in death by his father, Arthur Dowling and son, Mike Dowling.
There will be no public services at this time. His funeral arrangements are under the care and direction of Wilks Funeral Home, 211 W. Chubbuck Road. Condolences may be sent to the family online at www.wilksfuneralhome.com.
