Beverly Beatrice Sanderson

Beverly Beatrice DeRosier Sanderson, 85, passed away Sunday morning, November 20, 2011, while residing in Pocatello, Idaho, at her granddaughter's home since March 2011. Previously, she resided in Leavenworth, Washington for 23 years.

She was born Beverly Beatrice DeRosier on December 16, 1925, to Donald Peter and Beatrice (Roach) DeRosier in St. Paul, Minnesota. In February of 1930 her parents and two older brothers moved to Wenatchee, Washington. In March of 1930, at the age of five, her father died as a result of an automobile-pedestrian accident. In 1931, the family moved to Stanwood, Washington. Her mother was remarried in 1931 to Robert Brydon and her family soon grew with two more brothers. Most of Beverly's school years were spent in Bremerton, Washington.

As a young woman, Beverly lived in the Everett area working as a shipyard welder during the Korean War. She met and married Robert William Treibel in 1947 and in 1948 she gave birth to a baby girl, Terry Arlene Treibel.
Beverly was proud to be a hard worker and excelled in any job she undertook. She quickly became one of the best salmon filleters working in a fish processing plant after the war ended. Throughout her working career, Beverly had many positions in the food industry including bartending.

She married Floyd ‘Sandy' L. Sanderson in 1956.

In the mid 1960's Beverly became a beautician and soon was the owner-operator of her own salon. By the late 1970's Beverly was working in the seasonal fishing industry in Alaska. In the early 1980's she moved to Anchorage, Alaska and was flown to Purdoe Bay where she worked in the North Slope oil industry.

The late 1980's brought her to Leavenworth, Washington, where she loved residing until March 2011. While in Leavenworth she worked in the restaurant business in many roles including food preparation, waitress, and management. You could also see her early in the mornings watering flower baskets that lined the street until her 2002 retirement. She loved floating the Wenatchee River with her friends, even to the age of 83! She enjoyed the winters to the fullest with her love for snowmobiling. She would light up when she shared her stories of winning competitions and how they were some of the best times of her life.

In March 2011, due to health reasons, she decided to move to Pocatello, Idaho, to be closer to her family and live with her granddaughter, Brandi Hirschi, and her family of five children until Beverly's death on November 20, 2011.
Beverly was known for her generous service and smile. She had a reputation as being dependable, independent, a great cook, and had a good heart. It was known by all that knew her of her love and devotion for her pets, family and friends. She was small in physical stature; however, her strong spirit and zest for life and adventure was huge.

She is survived by one brother, Lee Brydon of Fortine, Montana; one daughter, Terry A Treibel and her husband, Brian Lasley of Snohomish, WA; one step-daughter, Joan Cornfield of Bethel, CA; three granddaughters and husbands, LaTisha Miner (Ed) of Lynnwood WA; Nickie Murdock (Boyd) of Inkom ID; Brandi Hirschi (David) of Chubbuck ID; 11 great grandchildren, Jake and Jerrica Kang, and Jordyn, Branson, Kendalyn and Macee Murdock, and Clay, Autumn, Sage, Cedar, and Oakley Hirschi; one great-great grandchild, Marli Storm. Beverly is preceded in death by three brothers, Kenneth DeRosier, Wilfred DeRosier, Loy Brydon; Nancy Sanderson Collins (step-daughter); and Stephen Sanderson (step-son).

The family gives acknowledgement and gratitude for the generous loving support and care from Creekside Hospice, friends, and family during this end of life journey for their beloved Beverly.

A memorial is to be held at the Leavenworth Adventist Church, 10600 Ski Hill Drive, Leavenworth, Washington with a luncheon to follow on Saturday, December 10, 2011 at 4:30pm. The inurnment will follow at a later date at Moutainview Cemetery, Leavenworth, Washington.
