Betty Louise Carter

d. November 30, 2017

February 2, 1936 - November 30, 2017 A special woman has been called home. Betty L. Carter, 81, passed away of natural causes on November 30, 2017, surrounded by her family. Betty was born on February 2, 1936, in West Plains, Missouri. She moved to Idaho at the age of 3. Pocatello was her home, and she loved it. She graduated from Pocatello High School in 1954. Betty was a hard-worker, specializing in business finance and credit collections. She was an avid gardener, creating beautiful flower gardens which were admired by many and she always shared the bounty of her vegetable garden, her expertise and starts with others. Betty created hundreds of perfectly crocheted doilies. She won prizes at the Utah State Fair, and won "Master of Show" at the Eastern Idaho State Fair in 2015. Many friends and family members were gifted with her beautiful pieces. Betty was a fantastic cook and baker and always made sure her family was well fed. She was blessed with a sense of humor and a sharp tongue. She was well known for her wit and had no qualms telling it like it is. She was a nature and animal lover with the exception of one orange Tom Cat. Betty always knew how to light up a room and make you feel loved. She is greatly loved and will be greatly missed. She is survived by her husband of 43 years, James Edward Carter. They enjoyed many activities together; camping, fishing, snowmobiling, and traveling where she visited every museum absorbing historical facts of the "Old West". She was an avid reader of biographies and historical novels. Betty is also survived by her daughter, Joyce Moore; grandchildren, Todd (Krystal) Dugger, John David (Rachel) Moore, Michelle (Zachary) Longley, and Katherine Moore; four great-grandchildren; and stepson, Eddie Sparks and family. The family would like to extend their gratitude to the staff of Horizon Home Health and Hospice, for the loving care they provided. In lieu of flowers, please donate to National Kidney Foundation or your favorite animal charity. There will be no formal services held.
