Bertha “Jeanne” Green, 100, loving mother, grandmother, sister and friend passed away on November 6, 2021.
Jeanne was born on January 10, 1921 in McCammon Idaho. She attended school in McCammon and graduated from high school. Her mother was very sick and so Jeanne took care of her three brothers by cooking and cleaning for them. Her mother died when she was 22 years old, so she hasn’t seen her for almost eighty years.
Jeanne married her sweetheart Terrell Green on January 26th, 1940. They would later be sealed for time and all eternity in the Logan, Utah Temple of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints on March 14, 1949. They were together until Terrell’s passing in 1980. While Terrell was sick, and in addition to raising her children, Jeanne took over managing the family farm. She enlisted the help of her kids and helped them understand the value of hard work. Jeanne ran the farm equipment, woke up early to milk the cows, and attended to all other tasks involved in farm life. She was an incredible example of hard work and dedication. Through all the adversity she faced, she did whatever it took to get the job done right. Jeanne always persevered through adversity and those lessons will never be forgotten by her family.
She was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints and served in many capacities including Stake Single’s Family Home Evening Coordinator and many primary presidencies. She was also very active in temple work and did sealings weekly.
Jeanne’s interests and hobbies included riding in airplanes, growing flowers, and gardening. Jeanne was also a very enthusiastic fan of the Utah Jazz and never missed watching a game.
Jeanne is survived by her daughters Julie Dawson and Sheree (Bryce) Jardine, as well as 12 grandchildren, 25 great-grandchildren, and 32 great-great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Terrell Green, daughter Christine (Ross) Payne, son Dennis (Konnie) Green, and brothers Boyd, Ted, and Glade Rowe.
