Barbara Waldram

July 14, 1928 — April 1, 2018

Barbara Heaton Waldram, 89 of Pocatello, Idaho passed away peacefully on April 1, 2018 in Pocatello, Idaho. Barbara was born on July 14, 1928 in Idaho Falls, Idaho to Lloyd Enoch Heaton and Helen Hope Weiss. She had one younger sister, Elaine Heaton (Orvil) Haroldsen.

She graduated from Idaho Falls High School in 1946. After graduation, she moved to Pocatello to attend Idaho State College, where she met her sweetheart Hal Garner Waldram a few weeks after school began. She recently admitted skipping classes to visit him at his work. They were married in the Idaho Falls Temple for time and eternity on June 18, 1947.

Hal and Barbara lived in Pocatello their entire married life, and were blessed with seven children, six sons and one daughter. Her greatest joy and accomplishment was being a mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She cared for and served her children with unfailing effort and love.

Barbara was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day-Saints. She served faithfully in every church calling she received; serving in ward and stake callings in Primary, Young Women's and Relief Society. On October 7, 1980, Hal and Barbara received their favorite and most cherished calling to serve as temple workers in the Idaho Falls Temple. She loved the associations she made with many dear friends as they served in the temple for over 30 years.

From November 1991 – November 1992 Barbara and Hal served in the Wisconsin Milwaukee Mission. Upon their return, Hal was called to serve as a sealer in the temple and Barbara had the opportunity to be with him when he married 14 of their grandchildren in several different temples.

Barbara and Hal grew large gardens every year and she spent many tireless hours caring for the gardens and freezing and canning food for her large family. They received awards from the City of Pocatello for their beautifully groomed yard and flower beds. Barbara was a great cook and the Waldram home was a gathering place on Sunday afternoons, as the neighborhood children came to enjoy her delicious rolls.

She loved taking pictures of her family, and she spent countless hours preserving those photos and other family history in "her books". It was with great enthusiasm that she made many copies of those books for her family. She was proud of her family, and she wanted to make sure her posterity would never forget each other, or where they came from.

Barbara was preceded in death by her husband, her mother and father and her sister. She is survived by her seven children, Craig (Stephane) Waldram, Tehachapi, California; Bruce (Bonnie) Waldram, Shelley, Idaho; Scott (Carla) Waldram, Pocatello, Idaho; Kimm (Margaret) Waldram, Pocatello, Idaho; Wendy Waldram Brown, Eagle, Idaho; Kelly (Cindy) Waldram, Maple Valley, Washington; and Mark (Connie) Waldram, Pocatello, Idaho. 26 grandchildren, and 58 great-grandchildren and more on the way.

The family would like to thank the staff of Brookdale Assisted Living and her hospice nurse, Brandie Whiteside and the other staff of Encompass Home Health & Hospice for their kind and loving care of Barbara in the final weeks of her life. She was treated with such dignity and respect.
