Barbara Lee Jenkins

July 23, 1946 — November 22, 2021

Barbara Lee Jenkins, 75, our beloved wife, mother, grandmother, sister and friend, passed away on November 22, 2021, with her family by her side at Portneuf Medical Center.

Barbara was born July 23, 1946 in Pocatello, ID. She was the second of four daughters born to Orson Glover and Margaret Virginia Armstrong Watson.

Barbara grew up in Chubbuck, ID attending Tyhee Elementary, Hawthorne Jr. High, Pocatello High School and was in the first graduating class from Highland High School in 1964. Barbara worked several jobs which included The Red Steer, Osco Drug, Village Mart, Fred Meyer, long term care facility at Bannock Hospital and Portneuf Medical Center where she retired in 2020. Barbara always talked about many of the friends she made while working at Portneuf Medical Center and she embroidered many pillow cases for her friends/co-workers that she gave to them for Christmas in 2020.

How Barbara and Milton’s 50-year relationship began, was through their mutual friends Gloria and Bill, who talked both of them into a blind double date. After that date, the real relationship began where love blossomed until they were married on November 27, 1971 and sealed in the Idaho Falls Temple January 28, 1978. They lived in Pocatello, ID until 1975, and then purchased a home and moved to Inkom, ID where they lived for the last 46 years. Their loving marriage produced five children: Kirk, Lance, Misty, Debra and Brooke.

Barbara was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints.

Barbara enjoyed embroidery, sewing especially making her own clothes, gardening, decorating, taking car rides with Milt, music, puzzles, shopping, dancing, baking and time with her family. One thing Barbara loved to do but was also scared to do was travel. She talked about always going to see the world but was too scared to take the first step and she hated flying.

Barbara’s sister and best friend Bonnie remembers a time when she was about six years old and she had to get her tonsils removed. When she came home Barbara had made her some doll clothes to help her feel better.

Barbara was a very private person but she loved helping others. Her children remember her as a very caring, loving, supportive, great listener, fun to tease, jokester, encouraging, strong and warm mother. Barbara was a best friend, the best wife, mother, mother-in-law, grandmother and sister. Our hearts stopped for a few seconds when she left this earth, and we will all miss her very much. Fly High Our Beautiful Angel!

Barbara is survived by her best friend and loving husband Milton, children Kirk, Lance (Andrea), Misty (Josh), Debra (Clain), Brooke (Brittany), nine grandchildren Preston, Desiree' (Barron), Sierra, Michelle, Devlin, Raven, Fischer, Michael, Aaron, a great grandchild due April 2022, and sisters LaWanna, Kathy and Bonnie (Tom).

Barbara was preceded in death by her parents Orson and Margaret Watson.

A private family service will be held in her honor.
