Barbara K. Wangelin

June 15, 1953 — February 14, 2023

Barbara "Barb" Kay Wangelin, 69, passed away on February 14, 2023. She was born in Casper, Wyoming on June 15, 1953 to Deacon Loius T. and Shirley Carubie.


She attended St. Anthony Catholic School until High School where she then attended Kelly Walsh High School and graduated in 1971.

After High School she worked various jobs until she started working at Engine Service which was later purchased by Stewart and Stevenson. Where she and her son (Justin) met her husband Charles "Chip" Wangelin. They married on September 19, 1981. Shortly after their marriage they welcomed a daughter (Stacy) together. As a family they resided in Casper until 1989 when they moved to Othello, Washington and stayed until moving to Pocatello, Idaho in 1995.


Barb worked various jobs in Pocatello until her retirement in 2017. After her retirement she would spend her days doing yard work and planting flower gardens when it was warm outside. She would also spend as much time as she could with her family. Her husband is involved with The American Legion Post 4 and she was in The American Legion Auxiliary Unit 4. They were also part of the Legion Riders where she met many people.


She enjoyed motorcycle rides with her husband, as well as teaching her grandchildren about rocks and rock hunting. She enjoyed everything outdoors from camping and hiking to bird watching and feeding the squirrels at her home. She also had a deep love for dogs.


Barb always had a smile on her face and a kind word for everybody. Even people she never knew personally.


Barb is survived by he rhusband Chip Wangelin (Pocatello); son Justin Christman (Mississippi); daughter Stacy (Wesley) Bullock (Pocatello); mother Shirley Carubie (Casper); sister Sandi Carubie (Casper); 5 grandchildren, Coby & Thomas Christman, Kami & Cade Burrup & Kylie Bullock; along with many nieces, nephews and cousins.


She is preceded in death by her father Deacon Louis T. Carubie, sister Jodi Garner, sister Cindy Garner and brother Tom Carubie.


Services will be held at a later date.
