Barbara Jean Davies passed away at her home in Pocatello on May 27, 2018, surrounded by her loving family. Barb was born in Taylorville, Illinois, on November 22, 1928, the only child of Grace and Russ Parrish. The family moved to Pomona, California, and Barb graduated from Pomona High School in 1946. She later moved to Blackfoot where she met her future husband, Robert (Bob) Davies.
Barb lived a rich and full life. She dearly loved her family and she was dearly loved in return. She married Bob on April 17, 1948, and they were married for sixty-nine years before he passed away on November 29, 2017. They had four boys, and Barb was an active, loving part of their lives. She was also active in the lives of her nine grandchildren and fourteen great-grandchildren, whom she dearly loved. Barb had many close friends with whom she shared her joy of golfing, square dancing, and playing pinochle. She also enjoyed camping at Redfish Lake, river trips, working in her garden, and reading. Barb and Bob spent many winters in Arizona with friends and family. She was an active member of the LDS Church and was very close to many members of her ward.
Barb was preceded in death by her parents and her husband, Robert Davies. She is survived by four sons, Jeff Davies (Don Merrill); Denis (Sheri) Davies; Todd (Annette) Davies, Boise; and Ron (Trish) Davies; nine grandchildren; and fourteen great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 on Friday, June 8, 2018, at Wilks Funeral Home, 211 W. Chubbuck Road. Family will receive friends at a viewing from 9:00 to 10:30. Interment will be held at the Ririe-Shelton Cemetery.
Barb was very proud of her grandson Russell Davies who recently founded Professional Transformation Sports Development (PTSD), a nonprofit organization that helps fellow veterans with PTSD through outdoor sports. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Barb's name to ptsdveteranathletes.org.
Condolences and memories may be shared with the family under the "Tribute Wall" tab above.
