Barbara Dailey, 85, passed away on January 26, 2022.
Barbara was born September 3, 1936, in Newman, California to William and Barbara Munhall. She is the oldest of five girls. At the age of 2 the family returned to Redlands, California where Barbara attended Sacred Heart Catholic School and graduated from Redlands High School in 1954. She attended school to train as a medical x-ray technologist and worked at Redlands Community Hospital.
In 1957 Barbara married Robert Ristrem, together they had 3 children and lived in Loma Linda, California. In 1972 they relocated to Pocatello, Idaho. Barbara continued her work in the medical field in Pocatello.
Barbara was widowed in 1984 and in 1987 married Jack Dailey. Barbara and Jack lived several places until Jack’s retirement when they permanently settled in Lakeland, Florida. Upon Jack’s death Barbara returned to Pocatello, in 1996.
She was a founding member of the NKA-ISU chapter and stayed an active member until her death. She thoroughly enjoyed reading and her book club, served her community by knitting and donating blankets to the hospital, everything from baby blankets to lap blankets for cancer patients. She was a fierce Dominoes player and will be greatly missed by her Friday Lunch and Game “Girls”.
Barbara loved her family and friends, she is survived by her 3 children, Kathleen Root, San Diego, CA; Lori (Scott) Blanchard, Pocatello, ID and Robert (Rebecca) Ristrem, Chubbuck, Idaho. Sisters Betty Smith, San Bernadino, CA; Ruth Stafford, Highland, CA and Nance’ Perry, Maricopa, AZ. 5 grandchildren Jett (September) Field, Pocatello, ID; Gregory (Shannon) Ristrem, Pocatello, ID; Katelyn (Scott) Rasley, Chicago, IL; Amy (Zack) Norman, San Tan Valley, AZ; Matthew Ristrem, Boise, ID and 5 great-grandchildren.
No formal services will be held at this time.
In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation to The Idaho Food Bank or The Humane Society.
