Arlene Stopka

Arlene Stopka, 74, of Pocatello, ID, passed away early afternoon July 9, 2013 at her home following an extended illness. She was born July 25, 1938 in Pocatello, ID, the daughter of T.R. Carlsen and Vivian Aldous Carlsen. On October 16, 1974 she married Weaver Stopka in Elko, Nevada. Arlene was an accomplished seamstress and enjoyed painting and crafts; she was employed at numerous places that involved these activities. She enjoyed snowmobiling, bowling and camping. Above all she enjoyed her family, especially the little ones. Survivors include her husband Weaver Stopka, Sister Julie Carlsen and her children, Arlene's children; Cheri Randall, Kip Rupp, Roger Rupp, Linda Bird, JaNeal Shattuck, Lane Rowe, Sheri Rhea, Richard Stopka and their spouses; 32 grandchildren , 16 Great Grand Children and 1 Great Great Grandchild. She was preceded in death by her parents; her son Alan; her sister Lorene; and two brothers Tom and Craig. The Family will receive friends on Friday July 12, 2013 from 6 Pm to 8PM at Colonial Funeral home, 2005 S 4th Ave, and also one hour prior to the funeral service at the church. Services will be conducted Saturday, July 13, 2013 at 11AM at the LDS City Creek Ward, 655 S Grant, Pocatello, ID. with Bishop David Platt officiating. Burial will follow at Mountain View Cemetery.
