Arlene Petty Yearsley

Arlene Petty Yearsley, age 85, of Huntington Beach, California, returned to heaven after completing her life’s journey. She was born to Lewis Leroy and Hilda Coffin Petty in Swan Lake, Idaho on January 13, 1937. Arlene was the oldest of seven children. She lived in Swan Like then moved with her parents to Salmon, Idaho, then to Pocatello. She welcomed, loved and helped take care of all of her siblings when they were born.

After Arlene graduated from Pocatello High School in 1955, she worked for Hamilton & Voeller Consulting Engineers.

Arlene met and married Ralph Gary Yearsley on August 21, 1959, in the Idaho Falls, Idaho Temple. They were married for 55 years, until Gary’s death on June 24, 2014. They were blessed to have three children – Steven, Lisa and Glen. They also raised two grandchildren, LaKisha and Michael Thompson. She was extremely dedicated to being an excellent mother and loved them dearly.

Arlene was preceded in death by her parents, husband Gary, daughter Lisa, three brothers Clyde, Dale and Dennis Petty.

Arlene is survived by her children Steven (Heather), Glen, two grandchildren LaKisha and Michael Thompson, and twelve additional grandchildren, seven great grandchildren, five sisters Faye (Don) Cotant, Linda (Dwight) Crandall, LaRae Olsen, Diane Petty, Vickie Petty, and many nieces and nephews.

We are thankful for her example of leadership, hard work, and the service to others she displayed throughout her life. We are also grateful for the love she had for her family.
