"Ark" Lloyd Smith, 79, passed away on April 2, 2023.
Lloyd Lavell Smith was born in Arkansas. He was a man who walked to the beat of his own drum. Drafted into the Army during Vietnam, Lloyd earned the lifetime nickname "Ark". Lloyd served in the Big Red 1 which he was proud of. He was a man of many skills. He worked many trades and became a heavy machine operator for most of his career. Lloyd loved fishing and hanging out with family and friends. Lloyd was proud of his kids, Jimmy Smith and Kimberly Newman, and the lives they made for themselves. His grandchildren and great grandchildren brought him great happiness. He loved them all passionately.
Lloyd is survived by his 2 kids, Jimmy (Kelli) Smith and Kimberly (Russell) Newman; grandchildren, Bradley Newman, Jeremy (Laura) Newman, Keith (Lindsay) Newman; and his great grandchildren; siblings, Jimmy David and Patricia Kay; and Jimmy and Kimberly's mother, Glenda Smith.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Lloyd Herman Smith, Vernie Paulne House; and siblings, Mazie Lee, May Dell (Jackie), Jerry Lynn, Winford Dale, and Bonnie Nadine.
Graveside Service will be held at 11am on Fri June 2, 2023 at the ID Veterans Cemetery, Blackfoot, ID with a Celebration of Life at 1pm at the Veteran's Memorial Building, 300 N Johnson, Pocatello, ID, escorted by Patriot Riders. All riders will meet at Red Lion Hotel, Pocatello ID, on Pocatello Creek Road at 9:00 am for safety briefing and riding rules and route. We will be Kickstand up at 9:30 am. We will turn left on Olympus Dr to Northgate Pkwy, then proceed to HWY 91, turn right and head to Blackfoot Via 35mph. Blackfoot PD will meet us when we reach Blackfoot and escort us to to West Judicial St. We will make a slight right and turn left on Cromwell Ln and proceed to Idaho State Veterans Cemetery, Blackfoot ID.
