Archie Higgins, Jr.

Archie Higgins, Jr., 82, passed away on Friday, October 14, 2016, at home surrounded by his family. He was born on May 14, 1934 in Westport, Maine, to Archie Sr. and Martha Higgins. He was a Corporal in the United States Marine Corps where he served from 1952-1960. He worked as a furnace operator at FMC for 42 years until he retired. His smiling face could be seen at Walmart where he was a door greeter and he also brought joy to many children as he played Santa at the Pine Ridge Mall. Archie married Deanna Mitton and together they had four children. They later divorced. He then married Pat Buzwell and together they had one daughter. That marriage also ended in divorce. He met and married the love of his life, Beverly Quine, on January 7, 1974. Together they have traveled to many places going wherever their hearts desired. They loved going to Jackpot and gambling. Archie loved his music; which all his family can attest to. He is preceded in death by his parents; and daughter, Joy Sweeney. He is survived by his wife, Beverly; son, Terry (Vicki) Higgins; daughters, Gaylene Higgins, Earlene (Pat) Henry, Lynda (Allen) Biron; 16 grandchildren; 29 great-grandchildren; and 2 great-great-grandchildren. A viewing will be held on Thursday, October 20, 2016 from 6-8 pm at Colonial Funeral Home, 2005 S. 4 th Ave. Pocatello, ID. Funeral services will take place on Friday, October 21, 2016 at 11 am also at Colonial Funeral Home, with a viewing for one hour prior to the services. Burial will follow at Mountain View Cemetery, 1520 S. 5 th Ave. Pocatello, ID 83204.
