Antonio S. Oblea, 39, passed away on August 11, 2023.
Antonio was born in Pocatello, Idaho to Salvador and Diana Oblea as the second oldest of his siblings and the oldest son. Growing up, Tony had a strong self-dedication to learning and schoolwork. He excelled as a scholar and paved many opportunities for himself. In middle school, he was selected to participate in a trip to Japan, a trip in which he talked about his experiences greatly.
He learned bowling at an early age. He enjoyed reading and doing activities with his family. He was also interested in travel.
Tony graduated from Highland High School in 2002 with high honors and an impressive academical record. He then attended Boise State University on a full ride scholarship where he obtained his master’s degree in electrical engineering. Tony then moved back to Pocatello to spend some time taking care of his family and to start a career. He pursued his engineering career at ON Semiconductor as a Product Developer, a career in which he had great pride and dedication.
Tony is admired for his life-long devotion to caring for others. There is not a single family member that Tony has not impacted in a loving and caring way. Tony’s greatest joy in life was caring for his niece and nephew, to whom he was like a father figure. There are no words to describe the love and purpose that Tony had to take on this role. He was the happiest when spending time with family and selflessly spent much of his life taking care of others. Tony’s humble and caring personality will be significantly missed by his loved ones and colleagues.
Tony is survived by his father, Salvado Oblea; brothers, Sergio Oblea and Jacob Oblea; sister, Megan Oblea; niece, Maricela Flores; and nephew, Sabastian Hernandez, all of Pocatello, Idaho.
He is preceded in death by his mother, Diana Oblea; sister, Elisa Jaramillo; cousin, Jose Jaramillo; and aunt, Berta Jaramillo.
