Annie Lemmon

d. July 21, 1945

Our beloved matriarch, Annie Marlene (Campbell/Kopp) Lemmon, passed away from a sudden cardiac arrest on January 14, 1012 at Portneuf Medical Center. She was 84 years old. Annie was born in LaBell, Idaho on February 6, 1927 to Marvin Campbell and Lydia Harrington Campbell. She weighed only 4 lbs, but what she lacked in size she made up for in determination. When she was only six months old her father died in a drowning accident in the Snake River leaving her and her 2 year old brother, Dale, without a father. About a year later her mom met and married Eddie Kopp of Swan Valley. Annie always thought of Eddie as her father in every way that counted. The family grew with the birth of her baby sister, Joyce. She attended high school in Rigby where she met her eternal sweetheart, Deloy Lemmon. While on leave in the Navy, Annie and Deloy decided to elope to Dylan, Montana on July 21, 1945. The marriage was later solemnized in the Idaho Falls Temple. They had been married 65 years when Deloy passed away in 2009. They were blessed with a son, Dennis, and daughter, Sharon. While pregnant with her first child she attended beauty school in Rigby and became a licensed cosmetologist. The family lived the next few years in the little town of Ammon and in 1957 Deloy relocated the family to Rupert where they lived for almost 40 years. While living there she operated a salon out of her home for almost 25 years. In 1989 Deloy retired as manager of Western Farm Service and they decided to move to Pocatello to be closer to family. Annie or "Marlene" as she was sometimes referred to, was a gifted seamstress. She had a knack for adding unique detail to her sewing and crocheting projects. She loved music and had a beautiful singing voice. She sang in the Silver Chords in the early 1990's. At only 4'11" she was a little ball of "Irish spunk" that kept us on our toes! She will be greatly missed by those who loved her including 9 grandchildren and 25 great-grandchildren. Annie is survived by her son, Dennis Lemmon, daughter, Sharon (Gordon) Anderson, all of Pocatello, and sister, Joyce Miles of Rigby. She is preceded in death by her parents, husband, Deloy E. Lemmon, brother, Dale Campbell, 2 nephews, Marvin and Dan Campbell, and brother-in-law, Ray Miles. Per her wishes, there will be no viewing and only a family graveside service at Pioneer Cemetery in Rigby, Idaho, where she will be laid to rest next to her husband. The family wishes to extend a special thanks to Carla Alex for the special help she gave to Annie and for all those who helped and supported our family at this difficult time. Burial arrangements are under the direction of Colonial Funeral Home. Condolences may be sent to the family online at www.Colonial-FuneralHome.com.
