Annette Mcminn

d. June 2, 2014

After a courageous fight against cancer, Annette Hanks McMinn peacefully passed away on the evening of June 2, 2014. She was born to Wright and Esther Hanks in Salt Lake City on May 10, 1947. Annette's memories of her childhood began in Pocatello, Idaho where she was raised. The oldest of four girls, she loved and always stayed close to her sisters Sue, Julie and Sylvia. She graduated from Pocatello High School and after two years at Idaho State University, met her husband Robert Glenn McMinn. Soon after their marriage on June 7, 1967, in the Idaho Falls LDS Temple, they moved to Seattle, Washington where Glenn completed dental school. After spending some time in Omaha, Nebraska and a second time in Seattle, Washington for a residency in Orthodontics, they permanently moved back to Pocatello, Idaho where they raised their five children; Brian, Rob, Jeff, Kristen, and Kevin. Annette lived a full and happy life. She enjoyed playing the piano, singing in choirs, golfing, spending one-on-one time with her 23 grandchildren, and staying physically active. Annette loved to water ski, and took pride in the fact that she was fit enough to slalom ski at the age of 60! Annette was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and friend. She was selfless, humble, kind, loving, sensitive, and trustworthy in the way she lived her life. Annette's life was defined by a quote she had hanging in her home - "It's not how other people make us feel in life that's important, rather it's how we make other people feel." Annette was a woman of great faith. She was strong in her commitment to keep the commandments of our Heavenly Father. Her life was filled with service and love. She served in many capacities within the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. These included working with the young women, and serving as a ward and stake Relief Society President. From April 2009 - April 2011, Annette and Glenn served as Nauvoo Pageant Missionaries in the Nauvoo, Illinois Mission. Since that time she continued to serve as an administrator for the Nauvoo Pageant with her husband serving in the pageant presidency. Annette is preceded in death by her father Wright, mother Esther, father-in-law Robert (Bob), and mother-in-law Mary. She is survived by husband Glenn, children, Brian (Tiffany), Layton, UT., Robert (Janelle), Pocatello, ID., Jeff (Maja), Pocatello, ID., Kristen (Craig) Campbell, Layton, UT., Kevin (Stefanie), Hailey, ID., 23 grandchildren, and sisters, Sue (Ed) Axford, Julie (Karle) Armitage, Sylvia (Stan) Belnap.
