Anna Laura Nielsen Streeper

November 3, 1919 — February 16, 2012

POCATELLO-Anna Streeper passed away peacefully on February 16, 2012.

She was born on November 3, 1919 to Danish immigrant parents Oluf Peter and Laura Lovisa Olsen Nielsen, Brigham City, Utah. A state ranked athlete as a young girl, she stole many a watermelon, served on the Peach Days court, the captain of the dance team, and wore her roller skates down to the axle skating round trip from Brigham City to Honeyville. She married Noall R. Streeper in the Salt Lake LDS temple on April 3, 1941. Family, heritage, faith and friends guided her life. The accomplishments of her children and grandchildren were her pride and joy. As a result of her Danish upbringing she was always a gracious hostess offering refreshment to all who visited. Always serving others, she delivered home-made split-pea soup to one of her friends days before her death. An active member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints she served in numerous leadership capacities and made many life time friendships. A founding member of Les Belles Lettres literary club as well as a member of many area bridge clubs she kept her mind and intellect sharp to the end. Anna would never turn down an adventure taking a zip line ride on her 86th birthday. Her friends and family can share stories of her many fun-loving exploits.

She enjoyed working for Idaho State University from which she retired as the admissions clerk. She loved gardening and peace roses were her favorites, admired by many a passerby.

She is survived by Steven (Pat) Streeper, Arco, Idaho, Barbara Taylor, Pocatello, Joan Hansen (Randy), Pocatello, Jeffrey Streeper, New York, New York, 17 grandchildren, 41 great grandchildren and 1 great great grandchild.
