Anna Catherine Preslar

Anna Catherine Norgaard Preslar, 87, passed away on February 2, 2019, at Quail Ridge Assisted Living in Pocatello of causes incident to age. Anna was born in Tyhee, Idaho, on June 24, 1931, to her Danish immigrant parents, Peter and Christine Norgaard, and spent her childhood there on the family farm.

At age 16, Anna married Earl Dean Preslar. They made their home in Robin, Idaho, where they raised one daughter and four sons. Anna was a devoted mother and homemaker and created happy, lasting memories for her family. When her family was grown, Anna enriched her education by graduating from business school and worked for many years as an office assistant.

Anna loved music, and, as a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, served for many years as the ward organist. Her family loved to hear her play at family gatherings. Anna also enjoyed crocheting, reading, and time spent with family.

Quiet and unpretentious, Anna was a respected and loved confidant and friend. She was a great listener, a calming influence, and an interested and supportive advocate for all family endeavors.

Anna is survived by her sister, Ellen Norgaard Watson; her children, Terry (Shirleen) Preslar, Gloria (Earl) Preston, Jeffery (Tracy) Preslar, Gregory (Elaine) Preslar, and Mark (Vinda) Preslar; 21 grandchildren and 35 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her siblings, Chris Norgaard, Carl Norgaard, and Marie Norgaard Seefried ; her husband, Earl Preslar; a son, Larry Preslar; and a grandson, Jess Preston.

Funeral services will be Saturday, February 9, at 11:00 at the Tyhee LDS Stake Center, 12146 W Tyhee Road, Pocatello. A viewing will be held prior to the services at the church beginning at 9:30 a.m. Burial will be in the Robin Cemetery.
