Amanda Nicole Hoffman was born on December 15, 1982, to Dee and Valerie Schenk in Pocatello, Idaho.
Amanda enjoyed traveling and engaging in a plethora of activities, her shoes always coated in the dust of some adventure, her hands always occupied by some novel hobby; indeed, it can never be said that she was hesitant to try something new.
Throughout Amanda’s storied life, she formed many bonds and inspired those around her. Amanda had about her a drive and passion that seemed to possess those with which she interacted; when she would set forth to accomplish something she would unerringly put forth her entire being into the project at hand. When she dared, she did so greatly. When she laughed, she did so fully. When she fought, she did so laudably. Though loving mother, daughter, sister, and aunt that she was, she nevertheless endured many hardships; yet, even when she struggled with her demons, she displayed a profound empathy for others. Her inner fire was a beacon of warmth in the darkness and no matter how fitfully it flickered, it provided warmth until the last.
On November 21, 2024, Amanda passed in the comfort of her home at the age of 41 and joined her father and brother. Though her burning light may no longer dispel the darkness, the warmth she instilled within our hearts will ever remain.
She is survived by her son, Cody Hoffman, her mother, Valerie Schenk, and her brother, Cory Schenk.
A celebration of life will be held in her honor on Sunday, December 15, 2024 from 1:00 pm to 4:00 pm at the Elk's Lodge, 410 S Main Street, Pocatello, ID 83204.
