Allen Brett Edwards, 57, of Pocatello, passed away, July 22, 2022.
Allen was born February 2, 1965 in Pocatello, Idaho to Anna Stone Edwards and Russell Edwards. Allen grew up in Pocatello and attended schools there. He earned his GED from Job Core. Allen was his Mom’s sidekick and learned everything from her from cooking, canning, and gardening. He was the keeper of the recipes and was a wonderful cook.
In 1993 Allen met his love, Mary Jo Lucero in St. Anthony as he was playing pool. He fell into her lap and they have been together since, sharing a wonderful life together. Together they had Marcie, who he adored.
Allen loved to garden and had a “green thumb”. Nobody could grow tomatoes like he could. He also loved birds and taking care of animals like chickens, geese and peacocks. Allen liked to keep busy and had numerous hobbies he enjoyed doing. He was very quick to learn new things. He was a great Dad who made sure his children always learned new things. Allen was known as a “Dad” to all and cared for his daughter’s friends like his own, making sure they had a warm meal, and a place to sleep if needed. He was always generous and would buy Christmas presents for them as well.
Allen loved to tell stories and always had a good story to tell. He was also a prankster and made sure he kept his family smiling and laughing.
Allen is survived by his daughter, Marcie Edwards of Chubbuck; significant other, Mary Jo Lucero of Chubbuck; siblings, James (Carol) Edwards of Suffolk, VA, Luann (Danny) Johnson of Portsmouth, VA, Barbara Tobias of Pocatello, Mary Kimbrough of Twin Falls, Ramona Portillo of Pocatello, Russell (Margaret) Edwards of Mesa, AZ, Debra Edwards of Pocatello, Douglas Edwards of Pocatello, and Marlene (Dave) Orchard of Soda Springs; as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
