Alice Ladell Whiting

January 18, 1941 — December 12, 2022

Our beautiful and beloved mother, wife, sister, grandmother, and friend, Alice LaDell Whiting, 81, had a tender mercy from her Heavenly Father to return to her Heavenly Home where she can be with her eternal companion, who passed away 17 years before her. What a glorious reunion!

LaDell Whiting was born January 18, 1941 in Boise, Idaho. She was adopted shortly after her birth by Eldon William Jolley and Alice Pearl Whitmill Jolley. She was sealed to her parents July 17, 1942 in the Idaho Falls Temple. She was raised in the Firth/Goshen area for many years and then later moved to Salmon, Idaho, where she later met her sweetheart, Joseph Merlin Whiting, and they were married on April 11, 1959. They were later sealed in the Idaho Falls Temple on April 14, 1967, for time and all eternity.

She was an active member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, and held many positions over the years. She especially loved attending the temple. She was always known for helping others and giving loving service to family and friends. She had a big heart and always did what she could for others.

LaDell had the privilege of being a stay at home mom and her family received great blessings because of her being in the home. She was always there for her children and loved each of them individually. She had many talents and attributes. She was a very talented lady and loved everything crafty. She was an avid crocheter. She made quilts, tole painted, did flower arranging and card making and many other craft types of things. She was a wonderful cook and loved making wonderful meals for her family. She was especially delighted when she could finally make homemade bread as good as her husband’s mother made.

LaDell loved the outdoors and loved camping with her family over the years. Many happy memories were made on these camping trips. LaDell and Joe made these trips so much fun and they ae some of the happiest memories for her children and grandchildren.

She is survived by her four children, Debbie (Lyndon) Cook, Cindy (John) Thompson, Doug (Lisa) Whiting, Marla (Mark) Adams, 15 grandchildren, 34 great grandchildren and one coming in February.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Eldon and Alice Jolley, her husband Joseph Whiting, and her brother Dale Jolley.
