Alice Hayes

Verna “Alice” Hayes, 89, of Pocatello, Idaho, passed away peacefully after a long illness and battle with dementia and Alzheimer’s disease on July 1, 2021.

Alice was born on February 8, 1932 to Edgar and Minnie Stidham in Depew, Oklahoma. She married Leonidas Benny Hayes and together they had two children, Diane and Tom. Leonidas passed away in December of 1981.

Alice spent the last 14 years of her life in Chubbuck, Idaho. The majority of her life was spent in Turlock, California. Alice retired from the Department of Agriculture as an enumerator. She loved to Bingo and Canasta. Her family was the most important part of her life.

Alice is survived by her children, Diane and Tom, her brother John Stidham, her granddaughter Danielle Swinburg, and her great grandchildren Levi, Emberly and Judah. She was preceded in death by her siblings Walter Stidham, Oscar Stidham, Delilah Toon, Florence Huff, Edgar and Ruth Stidham, Calvin Stidham and George Stidham.

A celebration of life will be held in her honor at 3:00 p.m. on Saturday July 10, 2021 at Wilks Funeral Home, 211 West Chubbuck Road Chubbuck, Idaho.
