Alex Seth Hill, 84, of Pocatello, passed away on Sunday, February 17, 2013. Alex was born in Wellsville, Utah on September 21, 1928 to William and Nada Hill. Alex spent his early years in Lava Hot Springs where he attended school through the 8th grade. He spent the next few years helping with the family sawmill business. Alex joined the Army in 1947 and was honorably discharged in 1949. He married Edythe Kathryn Nelson May 17, 1948. She passed away on June 8, 1993. He later married Margaret Teeples and she also passed away. Alex's employment included the railroad, later the underground mines in Conda, Idaho. In 1956 he took over the family sawmill from his father and retired in 1985. He was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. He was an avid hunter and fisherman. Loved to take picnics in the mountains and to take Sunday drives. He survived by the following: Alex (deceased) Kristi Hill, Daughter-in-Law of Lehi, UT, Karen (Gus) Kladis, daughter of Grace, ID, Charlie (Debby) Hill son, of Soda Springs, ID, daughters, Verla (Stephen) Coulson of Logan, UT, Rebecca (Darrel) Clemens of Pocatello, ID, Nola (Brad) Bybee of Downey, ID and Donna McNee of Pocatello, ID; five sisters, two brothers, 16 grandchildren and 26 great grandchildren. Alex was preceded in death by his parents; first wife, Edythe; second wife, Margaret; son, Alex; grandson, Joshua; two brothers and one sister. Funeral services will be held at 12 pm on Thursday, February 21, 2013, at the Lava Hot Springs LDS Ward Chapel. A visitation will be held from 6 pm to 8pm on Wednesday, February 20, 2013, at Colonial Funeral Home, 2005 S. 4th Ave, and also one hour prior to the funeral at the church. Burial will follow services at Lava Hot Springs Cemetery.
