Alene Menta

Alene Auck Menta, born October 11, 1942, made her spiritual journey on December 7, 2023.

Alene earned her bachelor’s degree from Idaho State University in 1982. She retired from School District #25, where she taught at Hawthorne Middle School. After retiring, she enjoyed traveling with her husband doing ministry work. Her last position was at Chief Tahgee Elementary Academy translating English into Shoshone language.

She is survived by her daughter, Marlis Marsh; nine grandchildren, Jon, Jacob, Ryder Menta, Cody Breshears, Blaze and Sencerae Dixey, all of Fort Hall, Idaho; Lindsey and Shannon Owen of Meridian, Idaho; Jennifer Owens of Phoenix Arizona; and great grandchildren.

She is preceded in death by her husband, Rudolph Menta, Sr.; daughter, Oma Menta Dixey; son, Tom E. Swan Menta; granddaughter, Kristen Menta.

She will be taken to her residence at E Agency Road on Saturday, December 9, 2023, at noon. She will remain there until Monday, December 11, 2023. A funeral service will be held at the Assembly of God Church on C Street, Fort Hall, Idaho. Interment will take place at Ross Fork Creek Cemetery, Osborne Plot, directly following the service.
