Alene Bowden

Alene Adams Bowden, 88, passed away peacefully from natural causes on Friday, April 7, 2017 in Pocatello, Idaho. Alene was born in Leslie, Idaho on January 13, 1929 to George William & Mary Francetta Lords Adams. She was the 9th of 10 children.

Alene was a graduate of Mackay High School in 1947. On December 26, 1951 she married Darwin Clifford Bowden in Blackfoot, Idaho. Their marriage was later solemnized on May 31, 1967 in the Idaho Falls Temple.

She was an active member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and served in many church callings. She enjoyed family history and camping with her family. She worked the voting polls for many years. Together with her husband Darwin they earned The 8 Who Make a Difference Award.

Alene is survived by: children, Glenn & Lawna Neil, Terry & LuAnn Fackrell, Deanna Williams, Steve & Kathy Lloyd; 9 grandchildren; 13 great grandchildren; numerous nieces & nephews; sisters, Reoma May Smith & Lula Stella Shaffer; three brother-in-laws, Dale & Barbara Bowden, Joe & Robyn Bowden, Lavere Hope; and two sister-in-laws, Janet Behrend and Jean Bowden.

She was preceded in death by: her eternal companion, Darwin Clifford Bowden; daughter, Janice Raylene Bowden Neil; her parents; son-in-law, Richard Williams; 4 sisters and 3 brothers.

Funeral services for Alene will be held at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday, April 15, 2017 at the Moore Stake Center at 3100 North 3350 West Moore, Idaho. A viewing will be held from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. on Friday, April 14, 2017 at Anderson Family Funeral Home in Arco and from 10:00 a.m. until 11:30 a.m. on Saturday at the church. Interment will follow services at the Mt. McCaleb Cemetery in Mackay, Idaho.
